Read Island, and especially Evans Bay, is ideal for canoeing and Kayaking. Evans Bay reachs up on the left of this photo. The Coast Mountain lodge specializing in outdoor activities and is located at the North end of this bay. This photo was taken before the Bird Cove property was developed so is shown only as trees.

Well, it may be a bit of a stretch to include a boat and truck in attractions but you would be surprised how important they can be if you really want to experience the island - plus they are the work horses of the property.

There are several orchards on the island. The are various abandon homesteads and the orchards keep going!. You can get plums, apples, pairs and walnuts.
There are several beautiful wild and garden flower spots on the island. The picture to the left is an unknown flower imprint.

Bird cove it self has a special peacefulness about. It can be very relaxing to just sit on the dock and look over to the Rocky Mountains to the east on the British Columbia mainland.

Evans Bay is a long reach further in than Bird Cove. It provides a great protected anchorage in the summer.
